== YOUR PRINTER AND KWIKLABL ==
First, if your printer is a 9-pin, it will not print 24-pin borders.
Next, let me explain a couple of items that perhaps will help you
understand things a little better. The selection of 9-pin or 24-pin
after the opening screen or in printer setup assures proper spacing
when you are making multiple labels. It seems that the same command
related to partial spacing means one thing on a 9-pin printer and an
entirely different spacing on a 24-pin printer. Also the printing
of the PS/PM graphics calls for a different format on 9-pin vs 24-pin.
So the only answer was to have the user identify his printer and then
the spacing between labels would be correct, as would the format of
the PS/PM graphics.
Selecting Ink-Jet/Laser in printer setup does not mean that KWIKLABL
will work with any of these printers. It only means that if your
Ink-Jet or Laser printer will work with the Epson type ESC commands,
then KWIKLABL will print properly on the two most popular size sheet
labels.
In an attempt to avoid confusion I have changed the name of the 9-pin
borders to Standard Borders because they are "bit-mapped" and work equally
well on 9-pin or 24-pin printers under almost any conditions. The 24-pin
borders are also "bit-mapped", but will not work on the 9-pin printers.
Things on your printer to check or adjust:
1) Your printer should be in the Epson/standard mode as
specified and NOT in the IBM mode.
2) If you have a front panel pitch selector, it must be set
to Program mode.
I sincerely hope that the above information will help you to
find and correct any problems you may have. Please let me know if you
find anything unusual as it might help someone else.
